My Secret to Reducing Dark Circles 🙋🏼
I've always struggled with dark circles and dry skin, so now that I'm older, they're constantly on my radar. I started using concealer early on... way before YouTube tutorials (kids today 🙄 ). I definitely remember a time in 2003 where I consistently looked like an alien from all the whiteness under my eyes. Through out the years, I've learned a few tricks: staying hydrated and moisturized, and using primers and setting powder, etc. I even had my Platelet Rich Plasma injected in between layers of skin under my eyes (AKA Vampire facial). It was way over priced and I saw very little to any results.... I guess you have to get it done multiple times.
For my wedding day, I wanted to make sure my face was flawless, including bright eyes and no bags or circles. While there are a ton of skincare products out there, I was happy to try the VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask because the key ingredients are packed full of moisture, Vitamin E and and Aloe - all proven to reduce dark circles. Each box comes with 6 packets to use 2-3 times a week. To prepare for my wedding, I used it 4 days before, the night before and the day before our honeymoon. The eye mask is an overnight treatment for a maximum of 8 hours, but you can wear them during the day for 2-4 hours if you're not comfortable sleeping in them. I find them instantly refreshing and cool, both welcomed after a year of wedding planning and a night of family, friends and too much champagne.
When I woke up on my wedding day, my eyes looked brighter and my skin felt moisturized, filling in my bags and giving me a more youthful #Iwokeuplikethis look. 💁🏼 When looking at the ingredients in the mask, it makes sense. The Sodium Hyaluronate and Sodium PCA boost the skin's moisture content, reduce inflammation, and help retain moisture. Aloe and Vitamin E hydrate and fight free radicals, while Allantoin stimulates cell regeneration...more skin cells, more coverage.
For the wedding, I found makeup artist, Lauren Meisel from VA. She did an amazing job for my bachelorette, rehearsal dinner and wedding day - definitely recommended! To ensure my face was makeup ready, I used the VIIcode mask the night before and a light organic serum and primer prior to application. Final look below!
